AVENUE HENRI JASPAR 110

SAINT GILLES

The project consists of the transformation of a Brussels mansion into a residential building of 4 units. The house, with its large surface area, was disproportionate for a single family.

The challenge of this project was to create qualitative housing while preserving the significant patrimonial and architectural existing elements. Thus, each room was treated individually and the new interventions were inserted according to the characteristics of each space.

Mouldings, doors and other decorative elements were preserved and restored so as to be enlighted in the new project.

Each apartment has its own unique design, while fitting into a coherent common style. The choice of materials was determinant.

To maintain the sobriety and elegance of the place, the color white was used as a tool to reveal the charm of the house. New wooden elements give the whole a warm atmosphere.

The new and discreet interventions sublimate the ornaments of the existing space.

In the attic, an existing mezzanine has been partitioned to create a duplex under the roof with two bedrooms and private bathrooms.

In the living room, a volume was built in order to place a double glassed door leading to a new outdoor terrace. This also acts as a skylight.
